Commercial Operations Manager

About the Role

At a moment of exciting growth, we are looking for a Commercial Operations Manager with excellent planning and data skills to elevate both our trade execution and internal reporting. This role will report directly to the Head of Sales while working closely with the Marketing and Sales Managers.

Key priorities for the role will be:

  • Trade Activations
  • Merchandising
  • Internal Sales KPI Management.

Responsibilities include managing a team of team including data analysts, activation supervisors and brand ambassadors.

Trade Activations

  • Weekly planning, execution and ROI measurement of all activations across the country.
  • Create a process for outlet activation scheduling by sales managers via a live calendar
  • Create an activations manual and implement training programs for brand ambassadors;
  • Manage the Trade Activations budget:
  • Drive a results performance culture through a team of 25+ Brand Ambassadors and an in-house activations team of 3.
  • Recommend and implement optimisation tactics to improve the impact and effectiveness of activations.

Merchandising and Point of Sale Production

  • Procurement of sales materials in a timely manner to meet annual plan requirements
  • Production of sales materials in a cost effective manner, while seeking final approval from the Marketing Manager
  • Implement tracking process for merchandising and point of sale materials
  • Manage the Point of Sale budget

Data Analytics and Internal Sale KPI Measurement

  • Create and implement process to track key internal sales KPIs
  • Track implementation of PICOS (Outlet Pictures of Success) for activations and merchandising.
  • Work with the compliance manager to cross check controls and validation of plans.

Experience

  • 5+ Years of experience in an Operations or Finance role.
  • Experience working in the FMCG or Alco-bev sector.
  • Experience with on trade and off trade channels.
  • Experience with category management and customer marketing is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to quickly build strong relationships.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills with a high ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent data skills, comfortable with excel and able to solve complex problems.
  • Discipline, passionate for executional excellence and commercially savvy.
  • Go-getter and relationship builder.
