PRINCIPAL CAPACITY BUILDING OFFICER (INTERNSHIP) GRADE EBK 4

REF: EBK/ HR & ADM/RT/030/VOL I (382)

A. PURPOSE

The Principal Capacity Building Officer (Internship) will be responsible for successful implementation of the Boards Graduate Engineers Internship Programme.

 

B. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Theduties and responsibilities of the officer will entail: –

i. Developing the curriculum for registration ofengineers.

ii. Overseeing the development of tools necessary forconducting professional examinations for the purposes of registration;

iii. Overseeing development of the requirements forestablishing the school of engineering and the opportunities for learning,professional exposure and skills acquisition; and

iv. Developing tools for facilitating the graduateengineers internship programme.

C. PERSON SPECIFICATIONS

 

For appointment to this grade, an officermust: –

i. Have a minimum period of six (6) years relevantwork experience;

ii. Have Bachelors Degree in any of the followingdisciplines – Engineering, Statistics, Communications, Economics, Finance, Law,Social Science from a recognized university;

iii. Be registered with a relevantprofessional body where applicable;

iv. Have Proficiency in computerapplications;

v. Shown merit and ability as reflected in workperformance and results; and

vi. Fulfilling the requirementsof Chapter six of the Constitution.

D. KEYCOMPETENCIES AND SKILLS

Forconsideration for the position, the candidate must demonstrate that they have:

i. Proficiency in IT

ii. Strategic thinking

iii. Analytical skills

iv. Interpersonal and negotiation skills

v. Integrity

vi. Mentoring, coaching and leadership skills

E. TERMSOF SERVICE:

The position will be permanent andpensionable.

F. CONDITIONS FOR APPLICATION

i. Successfulcandidates will be required to satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of theConstitution of Kenya and will therefore be required to provide the followingdocuments;

· Clearance certificates from the Higher EducationLoans Board (HELB),

· Valid Tax Compliance certificate from the KenyaRevenue Authority (KRA),

· Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorateof Criminal Investigations ;

· Clearance certificate from a Credit ReferenceBureau (CRB);

· Clearance from the Ethics and Anti CorruptionCommission.

ii. Canvassingwill lead to automatic disqualification.
