Person Specifications:

  • For appointment to this grade, an officer must have: –
  • At least ten (10) years’ work experience with four (4) years experience in management;
  • Bachelors Degree in any of the following: – Veterinary, Animal Health, Marketing, Commerce (Marketing Option), Business Administration or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
  • Masters Degree in any of the following: – Marketing, Commerce (Marketing Option), Business Administration or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
  • Membership to professional body and in good standing;
  • Management course lasting not less four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;
  • Proficiency in Computer Application; and
  • Fulfil the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the constitution

Responsibilities

  • Promoting the Institute’s existing brands and introducing new products to the market;
  • Analyzing budgets, preparing annual budget plans, scheduling expenditures, and ensuring that the sales team meets their quotas and goals;
  •  Researching and developing marketing opportunities and plans, understanding consumer requirements, identifying market trends, and suggesting system improvements to achieve the Institute’s marketing goals;
  • Gathering, investigating, and summarizing market data and trends to draft reports;
  • Implementing new sales plans and advertising;
  • Recruiting, training, scheduling, coaching, and managing marketing and sales teams to meet sales and marketing human resource objectives;
  •  Maintaining relationships with important clients by making regular visits, understanding their needs, and anticipating new marketing opportunities; and;
  • Developing and maintaining client database for sales and e-marketing and distribution of information to stakeholders.
