About the role:
We are looking to hire a Junior BOM Engineer to work with our Product Engineering Controller. The ideal candidate will be responsible for offering support in maintaining the BOM structure for various products, ensuring the correct and complete breakdown of all parts required for the different products and models. The ideal candidate must have experience managing BOM data.
Key Duties and responsibilities
- BOM Data Management – Responsible for checking the accuracy of the BOM data in terms of data points, drawings, technical information prior to dissemination to the rest of the teams.
- BOM Change Management – Assist in reviewing BOM change requests to ensure compliance to a structured and defined standard process and tracking the process of overall BOM.
- Change Management – Support the capture, tracking and review of engineering change requests through the Engineering Change Order Process
- BOM Releases Planning – Work with PEC to ensure accurate planning and tracking of all BOM releases during the different stages of the component or system development.
- Vehicle Build Configuration – Support product build process with BOM configuration and management of each vehicle.
- Continuous Improvement – Proactively improve existing BOM process activities.
Qualifications and experience
- Must have a bachelor degree (minimum) in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related discipline.
- Relevant experience in processing and managing BOM data.
- Working in a fast paced manufacturing environment.
- Basic comprehension of manufacturing business operations, part numbers, part flow, drawings, design changes, manufacturing instructions and MRP as it relates to a manufacturing BOM
- Knowledge of PLM systems for drawing / CAD data management
- Analytical skills and data processing accuracy
- Ability to adapt to a dynamic working environment and work within a diverse team
- Good negotiating skills to work with different engineers and requirements to achieve best geometric solutions for the product
