Who We Are

IREX is a global development and education organization. We strive for a more just, prosperous, and inclusive world—where individuals reach their full potential, governments serve their people, and communities thrive. With a projected annual portfolio of more than $100 million and more than 600 staff worldwide, we work with partners in more than 100 countries in four areas essential to progress: cultivating leaders, empowering youth, strengthening institutions, and increasing access to quality education and information.

IREX seeks a strategic and entrepreneurial Senior Technical Advisor for Leadership Development to grow the organization’s portfolio of programs that prepares individuals to make positive change in their communities, governments, organizations, and businesses. This position will lead and support business development efforts with multiple donors, including the United States government (U.S. Department of State, USAID, etc.), other governments, foundations and the private sector. This self-starter will drive proposal development processes, support the design of leadership development programs, draft technical approaches for proposals, as well as lead new business intelligence gathering, positioning activities, and the cultivation of partner and donor relationships. They will be an integral part of the New Business Development team, reporting to the Deputy Director.

With a global remit, the ideal candidate will build our portfolio of global programs that develop leaders to engage and inspire others, advocate thoughtfully, take action, and continue to learn and adapt. We identify these leaders, develop their capabilities, provide opportunities, and build their networks to increase their impact. Our approach prepares leaders to navigate complex challenges, build trust with people across sectors, and mobilize coalitions to create more just, prosperous, and inclusive societies.

We are doers. Our decades of on-the-ground experience help us create greater impact, practical recommendations, and lasting partnerships.
