CHAK is a national network of the Protestant Churches Health Facilities and Programmes in Kenya committed to promoting access to quality health care. CHAK is seeking to recruit a dynamic, self-driven HR professional of integrity to the position of HR Manager.
The position reports to the General Secretary and is based at CHAK Secretariat in Nairobi.
The HRM leads the HR Department and is responsible for planning, developing, leading, directing and coordinating implementation of CHAK’s human resource management strategy and policies to drive high performance culture as well as provision of technical support to member health facilities.
Key responsibilities:
- HRM policy development and implementation
- HR planning and resource mobilization
- Talent acquisition, allocation and development; coordinate recruitment and onboarding
- Performance management aligned to organizational strategy
- Ensure excellent employee relations
- Support compensation and administration of employee benefits
- Monitor and ensure compliance with Labour Laws
- Drive staff motivation and retention strategies
- Oversee health and safety programmes in the workplaces
- Provide HR technical support to member health facilities
- Prepare HR reports for Management and Board HR Committee
Qualification and Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management/Business Administration/Social Sciences and Masters’ degree in HRM or related discipline
- Professional qualifications in Human Resource Management such as CHRP (K) or equivalent
- Member of Institute of Human Resource Management of Kenya with a valid Practicing License and in good standing
- At least 8 years’ work experience in human resource management with at least 3 years’ experience in management/supervisory level
- Experience managing Human Resource in a donor funded environment will be an added advantage
- Excellent interpersonal & communication skills
- Good employee and labour relations
- Conflict and mediation skills, coaching and mentorship skills
- Resource mobilization and proposal development skills
- Human Resource Data analytics
