Overview: Food Safety Packhouse Officer
As our Packhouse Officer in Kenya, you will report to the Director, East Africa and work closely with the Logistics Coordinator, Food Safety Manager and Sourcing Officers across Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania. You will lead Agricycle’s Packhouse activities and ensure total reliability and consistency. Leveraging your diligence and strategic thinking, you will easily forecast potential roadblocks to Agricycle’s Packhouse operation and make immediate and self-directed efforts to avoid delays to targeted packed ingredients.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise all production operations in the Packhouse
- Ensure 100% of outbound ingredients are of top quality and free of any QA/QC issues
- Implement production activities schedules
- Monitor and supervise the packhouse staff and handle their attendance
- Ensure food health and safety standards are well practiced in the Packhouse
- Report the staff level needed for smooth sorting and packing operations
- Ensure packaging technical specifications are observed in the packing activities.
- Prepare reports on operations and reporting on daily bases to the Director, East Africa. .
- Manage storage facilities and maintain the equipments for proper utilization
- Supervise processes and identify inefficiencies that can be removed in Packhouse production activities.
- Accomplish any other reasonable responsibility given by supervising team members.

Requirements:
- Minimum of 1 years of demonstrable experience in production,logistics or supply chain management.
- At least 1 year of food safety experience
- University degree or advanced work experience in logistics, supply chain management, project management, business management or other related fields.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) and ability to speak and write in English fluently.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, strong work ethic and unimpeachable integrity.
- Readiness and ability to regularly perform under pressure and within short timeframes.
- Readiness to travel anywhere in East Africa and sometimes work odd hours to match US time zones.
- Excellent working knowledge of computer applications, especially: gmail and google drive.
