Job Title: Supply Chain Management Officer-

KNBS Level: 6

Ref: KNBS/SCMO/13/2021

No. of Positions: 1

Monthly Remuneration:

Basic Salary: Kshs. 80,400 – Kshs. 112,400

House Allowance: Kshs. 20,000

Commuter Allowance: Kshs. 12,000

Terms of Employment: Permanent and Pensionable

Job Purpose: Reporting to the Assistant Manager, Supply Chain Management, the jobholder will be responsible for implementing activities in the Supply Chain Management Division.

Key responsibilities

i. Taking Stock of stores inventory;

ii. Developing annual procurement and disposal plans;

iii. Maintaining and updating the asset register;

iv. Preparing Local Purchase and Local Service Orders;

v. Preparing contract documents;

vi. Carrying out procurement, market survey and research;

vii. Preparing tender documents and processing advertisement of tenders;

viii. opening Tenders;

ix. Short-listing and registering suppliers;

x. Providing secretariat services to supply chain management committees

xi. Preparing supply chain management reports;

xii. Undertaking any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements for Appointment

i. Must have a Bachelor Degree in any of the following disciplines:-Procurement and Supply Chain Management or any other related qualifications from a recognized institution;

ii. Must have a Diploma in Supply Chain Management from the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) – Final or related qualifications from a recognized institution;

iii. Must be a Member of the Kenya Institute of Supply Management (KISM) or Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS);

iv. Must have a certificate in computer applications from a recognized institution;

v. Must have a Valid Practicing Certificate in Supply Chain Management from Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM) or any other recognized institution;

vi. Must have shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results;

vii. Must have analytical, financial and human resource management skills;

viii. Must be able to work in a collaborative team environment.
