St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church Ruiru Self Help Group (Ruiru Fund) is a registered agent under the Archdiocese of Nairobi Social Promotion Registered Trustees (SPRT) with the mandate of Promoting pastoral and socio-economic activities of their own members’ welfare and that of the wider community majorly through mobilization of savings and lending of affordable credit facilities. The group operates at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church Parish Ruiru. The Board of Management wishes to advertise for an ICT Officer position in order to provide ICT related solutions and business support for the institution.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Oversee the implementation, deployment and operations of information systems.

2. Clearly identify the organization’s long term ICT requirements that will support and deliver the organization’s strategic plans.

3. Develop, maintain and review the organization’s ICT policy and procedures which support the organization’s needs and strategic objectives.

4. Establish a continuous ICT strategic planning cycle which will ensure that the organization benefits from emerging ICT technology.

5. Ensure the organization has appropriate and up to date ICT functionality, software and hardware in an effective, efficient, secure and cost conscious manner.

6. Provide internal IT support (Server security, Software updates, Hardware’s maintenances etc.

7. Ensure adequate backup and recovery strategies and systems are in place and reviewed regularly.

8. Manage, evaluate and ensure security concerns for the organization are addressed e.g. antivirus, firewall configuration, internal and external penetration testing and user access controls/user account management.

9. Establish procedures to ensure the readiness, quality and accuracy of websites, use of social media platform for business, providing guidance and staff training.

10. Stay informed on new or emerging trends and technologies that provides clear benefits to the organization and stakeholders.

11. Establish a fully-fledged Disaster Recovery Plan in tune with the business continuity plan and ensure the document is updated periodically and tested.

12. Developing programs and also training team members to promote efficient and effective technologies and service delivery.

13. Perform any other duty as may be assigned from time to time.


1. Bachelor degree in ICT related field from a reputable university.

2. A minimum of 3 years’ experience in systems (Hardware and Software)

3. Professional certification and Database administration is an added advantage.

4. Good Experience in HTML, MySQL, programming, Linux, Windows etc

5. Top notch analytical skills, interpersonal skills and communication both written & Verbal.

6. Strong Christian values, committed and passionate for transformation of livelihoods.
