Purpose of the job
- Administer the relevant Tax Acts for assessments, collection, and accounting for revenue;
- Assist the Deputy Commissioner in management of the Division.
- Ensure efficient and effective management of resources.
- Enforcement intelligence management and implementation
Duties and Responsibilities
- Identification and effective management of enforcement intelligence
- Evaluate intelligence and guide on intelligence driven operations
- Manage cases from field enforcement through compounding or forwarding to prosecution.
- Advice the Deputy Commissioner on technical matters relating to the case management strategies
- Liase with legal and other relevant department in non compliant case resolutions
- Review existing tax legislation and make recommendations for amendments from time to time to address revenue leakage based on intelligence gathered
- Supervise licensing and factory control programme in the Division
- Develop and roll out the publicity work plans to deter illicit trade
- Foster strong working relationships with relevant stakeholders for the benefit of the Authority.
- Manage cases and evidence provided by the Field operation teams; Co-ordinate and Liaise with Prosecution Division on cases forwarded
- Prepare management reports to improve revenue
- Expand Tax base through identification of cases for registration
- Liaising with other departments or agencies responsible for control and monitoring of illicit trade to create effective synergy.
Skills required:
- In possession of a degree from a recognised University;
- Possession of legal qualification will be added advantage
- Extensive knowledge of Revenue Acts administered by the Kenya Revenue Authority;
- At least seven (7) years of experience in the relevant field, three (3) years of which should be at the managerial position
- In depth experience in Field enforcement, Surveillance, Tax Policy and measures that reduce illicit trade will be added advantage

- High understanding of dynamics of illicit trade and impact on both revenue and trade.
- Proficiency in standard computer packages.
