Who are we?

We work with families in crisis to make sure this happens. Tushinde Children’s Trust was registered as an NGO in Kenya in March 2011. We work with vulnerable families in the informal settlements of Mathare and Kiambiu.

Full Job Description

Summary:

Tushinde is recruiting an experienced counsellor / therapist to provide emotional support for our beneficiaries (individuals and groups) and to address crisis situations when no other mental health services are available and/or being provided.The counsellor will provide immediate psychological and emotional care to individuals insignificant distress to stabilize their condition, minimize potential trauma from an acute life event, and as appropriate, transition them to other mental health support as required. In addition, they will lead support group sessions for beneficiaries with HIV (adults and children).

What is Tushinde looking for?

Ideally, applicants should have 3 years’ experience in a similar role and have an honors degree, minimum, in a related subject.

Applicants should have experience of working with a team of qualified professionals and serving the public.
