Accounts Manager – Exports (Nairobi)

Description

MRM is seeking to recruit a suitable individual to work as an Accounts ManagerExports reporting to the Sales Manager. This position is based in Athi River/ Kampala – Nairobi.

Main Purpose

To generate Cold Rolled Coil Annealed (CRCA) and Cold Rolled Coil (CRC) export sales across the East African market. The role will explore non-roofing applications for AZ & PPAZ and to complement the existing resources for better market coverage.            

Key Performance Areas:

  • Management of sales Volume in assigned export region – Generate business and ensure that sales volume as per budgeted /targeted basis are achieved on a consistent monthly basis.
  • Market development – below the line activity – Actively research market for new product opportunities outside current core Sectors and introduce MRM and its brands to prospective clients within the region to grow sales volumes.
  • Collection, analysis and dissemination of information on all competition activities – Provide timely sales and marketing intelligence reports through regular customer and market visits, establishing, and maintaining a clear competitive edge over the competition to gain and secure market share.
  • Cash collection & debtors’ management – Ensure all accounts are within the stipulated credit limit, fulfil credit formalities with personal guarantee forms and reconcile all accounts within stipulated period.
  • Any other official assignments that may be delegated by the management from time to time.
Requirements

Minimum Qualifications and Experience Requirements :

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Commerce, Trade, Economics or equivalent (*Engineering Degree along with Management qualification preferred)
  • At least 8 years’ experience in similar role.
  • Knowledge in ERP systems (SAP).
  • Experience in Steel Roofing & Building Materials (Sales & Marketing experience for Flat Steel products will be preferred)
  • Good understanding of Export and Import procedures and regulations in the EA Region
