SUMMARY
The position is a shared services function. The ICT Officer will be responsible for analysis, design, installation, configuration, maintenance and repair of the network infrastructure and application components.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.
• Designing, setting up and configuring complex switching environments and complex wireless networks that support remote secured access of voice/video applications as well as large volumes of data transfer.
• Configuring and setting up Cisco Firewalls, VPN Concentrators and Security appliances for access to vital critical applications
• Maintaining network security through proper configuration of VPN and Firewalls.
• Setting up and maintaining the LAN and its associated components (switches, structured cabling, power provisioning etc.).
• Providing technical assistance and support to internal staff and partner agencies.
• Maintaining both the wired & wireless network inclusive of performance, security, throughput and upgrades.
• Implementing network upgrades by developing, testing, evaluating, and installing enhancements.
• Implementing effective maintenance of all hardware inclusive of enterprise hardware such as servers, storage, switches, routers, and UPS’s.
• Troubleshooting of network hardware and software applications, IP Phones and security systems to resolve operational issues and restore services.
• Ensuring all work and changes to infrastructure components are performed in such a way as to minimize disruptions to existing ICT services.
• Developing documentation, implementing, testing and reviewing business continuity plan (Disaster Recovery Plan) for ensuring systems availability and business continuity.
• Establishing appropriate operational procedures, tools and resources for effective and timely delivery of technical support for all system users to ensure productivity.
• Designing and producing customized system reports.
• Supervising overall planning and scheduling of ICT projects
• Advising the Company’s Management team on ICT developments and policy issues and their impact on the company’s operations and strategy
• Undertaking any other duties as may be reasonably required.

EDUCATION/SKILL REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or relevant field from a recognised university
• Must possess professional qualification in ICT (MSCE or MSCD) or Networking certification e.g. CCNA, CCNP, CCVP or VOIP Certification.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience is required
• Experience in ICT Project Management will be an added advantage
• Knowledge of VOIP implementation and support.
• Strong background in TCP/IP networking software and hardware including routers, switches and firewalls.
• Knowledge of computer network security systems, procedures, techniques and application
• People management skills is desirable
• Able to work cohesively in a team
• Able to work well under pressure
• Able to work for long hours, sometimes weekends and holidays.
