Reporting to the Head of Corporate & Public Sector Business Unit, the successful applicant will assist in implementing the sales process to attract new corporate & public sector clients through but not limited to intermediaries, maintain fruitful relationships with those clients and address their needs effectively. This is in efforts of ensuring that the department realizes its core mandate of meeting the company’s strategic objectives of business growth, profitability, increased market share and customer centricity.

Key Responsibilities

  • To grow production as per the strategic business plan
  • To achieve the targeted renewal business yearly
  • To implement the business processes and procedures in the departments and achieve 100% improvement in customer experience
  • To achieve 100% premium collection within 60 days
  • To assist in the achievement of the company’s profitability

Administrative Duties

  • Work with insurance intermediaries and direct corporate clients to create solutions for their needs plus those of their clients and consult throughout the sales process
  •  
  • Research intermediaries’ and direct corporate clients business referrals, network, and other leads and provide detailed weekly reports
  • Provide prospective intermediaries and direct corporate clients with all services and additional presentations as needed
  • Implement the sales & marketing strategic plan on tender business
  • Recruit, train, motivate and retain strategic alliances with brokers for business growth
  • To keenly follow up on all broker tender business and ensure competitive bidding and closing
  • Responsible for servicing all allocated intermediary and direct corporate clients’ accounts including assisting in proposal documentation and cover placement, facilitating valuations, risk management exercises, training, credit control, loss assessment and claim settlement
  • Responsible for meeting the set new sales targets, the set retention rate of the portfolio allotted and to ensure that the targeted profitability of the portfolio is achieved
  • Plan and carry out consumer education within the intermediaries’ market
  • Constantly update clients on new and existing products
  • Liaise with the various departments to ensure timely service delivery to the clients and intermediaries
  • Collect market intelligence and prepare and present reports
  • Coordinate corporate functions involving insurance brokers and agents
  • General administrative duties as guided by the Head of Corporate and Public Sector Unit

  • Grow the insurance brokerage market share as per the set targets and timelines

Experience and Knowledge Required

  • Implementation of strategic policies and budgets
  • Implementation of sales strategies and marketing strategies
  • General administration
  • Very good analytical, risk assessment and problem solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written skills
  • A thorough understanding of insurance sales, underwriting and claims processes
  • Practical knowledge and understanding of the insurance industry, its stakeholders and products

Academic and Professional Qualifications

  • Graduate Degree in business related field
  • AIIK/ACII Diploma or progress towards achieving the same
