Konza Technopolis Development Authority (KoTDA) is seeking competent, capable, ambitious, self-motivated, and dynamic individuals that demonstrate the appropriate expertise and experience to contribute to the development of the Konza Technopolis into a sustainable world class technology hub.

The Mission of Konza Technopolis Development Authority is “to develop a sustainable smart city and innovation ecosystem contributing to Kenya’s knowledge economy.” Konza Technopolis as an area of Innovation is especially suited to Education Institutions, Research & Development Centres and Commercial interests in the sectors of Life sciences, Engineering, and Information Technology Enabled Services (ITES). To this end Konza Technopolis has begun the process of developing the city’s infrastructure, construction of the KoTDA Hub, the Government cloud infrastructure and establishment of Kenya’s first dedicated research and innovation University. Konza Technopolis is also a special economic zone with incentives targeted at participating enterprises.

Basic Salary Scale Ksh 60,000- 110,000 p.m

Job Specification            

Duties and responsibilities

  • Proactive and reactive monitoring of technology systems , backhaul, servers, Data Center, network infrastructure and computer systems not limited to application and databases;
  • Providing information on components and services availability, capacity, and performance metrics;
  • Participate in service continuity management by routine activities, such as backing up and restoration of systems and disaster recovery activities, such as executing system failover scripts;
  • Participate in management of deployments by support planning and execution of changes in production environments especially deployment of new and changed features as well as patch management;
  • Participate in Incident management and problem management by providing the first line troubleshooting of incidents arising from monitoring, record incidents and correlate them with the events and apply appropriate workarounds;
  • Communicate and coordinate resolution with other support levels including third party partners and vendors;
  • Understand information security management and best practices;
  • Articulates systems and methodologies as well as reply to security-related events and support in remediation effort.

Person Specification

For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:

  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience will be an added advantage;
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or any other equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution;
  • Relevant Professional qualifications such as ITIL, Desktop Support Specialist, CompTIA-A+, SolarWinds, CIA- Storage, HCIA- Cloud, CISCO, CCNA,  CCSA;
  • Excellent hands-on experience and knowledge implementing, configuring, integrating, and supporting the network security with ITIL, Cacti, SolarWinds, Checkpoint or any other NMS, ITSM tools, DR tools, Load balancers, security solutions
