About the Role

The Chief Finance Officer will provide strategic and operational leadership for divisional financial management, ensuring robust financial reporting, effective internal controls, regulatory compliance, and prudence management of cash flow, risk and support services.

The role partners closely with divisional leadership to enable informed decision-making, operational efficiency, and long-term sustainability.

Key Responsibilities of a Chief Financial Officer- Coffee, Macadamia & Estates Division

  • Provide strategic leadership over accounting operations for the Coffee, Estates (Kiambu and Nyeri), and Macadamia divisions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
  • Ensure timely, accurate, and auditable preparation of management accounts, financial statements, and statutory reports in compliance with IFRS and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead divisional budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis to support performance monitoring and strategic planning.
  • Oversee treasury operations including cash flow management, banking relationships,liquidity planning, and payment controls.
  • Manage tax planning, compliance, and statutory filings in line with Kenyan tax laws and regulatory frameworks.
  • Establish, monitor, and continuously strengthen internal controls, financial policies, and risk management frameworks.
  • Manage divisional cash flows, investments, and financial risks to support business continuity, capital efficiency, and sustainable growth.
  • Develop and oversee financial policies that support governance, accountability, and strategic objectives.
  • Oversee procurement processes to ensure value for money, transparency, and compliance with company policies.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team to foster a culture of accountability, ethical conduct, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications and Experience of a Chief Financial Officer- Coffee, Macadamia & Estates Division

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, from a recognized institution.
  • Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration (MBA), or a related field, is an added advantage.
  • Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (CPA K).
  • Member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (CPA K) and in good standing.
  • At least 8-10 years’ relevant experience in finance or accounting, with a minimum of 3 years in a senior managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, Kenyan tax laws, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Proven experience in budgeting, treasury management, cash flow planning, and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in accounting systems ERPs;  experience with SAGE will be an added advantage.
