Plastic Water Tanks and Pipes Sales Representative
Our client, in the recycling industry is seeking a motivated and results-driven Plastic Water Tanks and Pipes Sales Representative to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving sales growth, promoting eco-friendly water storage and piping products, and building strong relationships with clients across residential, commercial, and industrial sectors. This job is located in Thika.
Job Purpose
The Plastic Water Tanks and Pipes Sales Representative will be responsible for driving sales revenue, expanding the dealer network, and building relationships with clients in the Households, construction, agriculture, and industrial sectors. This role typically involves frequent field visits, prospecting for new business, and providing technical advice on water storage and piping solutions.
Key Responsibilities of a Plastic Water Tanks and Pipes Sales Representative
- Meeting or exceeding monthly, quarterly, and annual sales volume and revenue targets.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with existing dealers and wholesalers to ensure high product turnover and repeat orders.
- Responding to inquiries, providing quotations, and handling complaints, ensuring high client satisfaction.
- Monitoring competitor activities, pricing trends, and new product opportunities, providing regular reports to management
- Coordinating with production and logistics teams to ensure prompt delivery of orders to clients.
- Providing in-depth technical knowledge of product specifications—such as HDPE/PVC pipes, tank capacities, and fittings—and assist clients in selecting the best solutions for their needs
- Conducting site visits and client consultations to understand project requirements and recommend suitable products.
- Participating in trade shows, exhibitions, and sustainability initiatives to promote the company’s products.
- Maintaining accurate records of sales activities, pipeline, and forecasts
- Preparing and delivering sales presentations and product demonstrations.
Required Qualifications & Skills of a Plastic Water Tanks and Pipes Sales Representative
- Diploma or Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, or related field.
- Proven 2–5+ years of sales experience, preferably in building materials, construction supplies, retail Hardware, plastics, or FMCG sectors
- Understanding of plastic pipe installation (e.g., HDPE/PVC) and water storage tank applications.
- Strong negotiation skills to close sales and manage commercial agreements.
- An aggressive, results-oriented, and self-driven approach to sales.
- Must be able to travel frequently for field visits, construction sites, Trade shows and water project sites.
Preferred Competencies
- Experience handling extensive dealer networks in a large geographical territory.
- Proficiency in CRM/ERP software and MS Office Suite.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple accounts simultaneously
