Technicians/Engineering Assistant
NRV 8
The successful candidate will be reporting to Engineer and perform planning, designing, developing, managing and maintenance of Water and Sanitation infrastructure. The appointment will be on permanent terms, subject to satisfactory performance.
Key Responsibilities of Technicians/Engineering Assistant
The key responsibilities are; –
- Collecting baseline data for water and sanitation planning;
- Identifying sites for water and sanitation structures;
- Conducting preliminary topographic, hydrological, socio economic surveys;
- Data collection for water and sanitation demand estimation;
- Preparing of Feasibility Study Reports;
- Participating in site inspections;
- Preparing of payment certificates;
- Participating in implementation of projects;
- Participating in the development of departmental budgets and annual work plans;
- Preparing project progress reports;
- Participating in stakeholder consultative forums;
- Participating in assessment of water and sanitation facilities;
- Developing project proposals;
- Participating in commissioning of completed projects;
- Preparing of project designs
Qualifications and Work experience of Technicians/Engineering Assistant
The successful candidate must have/be: –
- Diploma in Civil/Water/Electrical/Mechanical/Building Engineering or equivalent from a recognized institution.
- Be registered as Engineering Technician by the Kenya Engineering Technology Registration Board (KETRB);
- Proficiency in relevant computer applications;
- Proficiency in Auto-CAD/Civil 3D/Sewer CAD/Water CAD and other draughting computer applications;
- Fulfill the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya 2010.

Successful applicants will be required to satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of Kenya Constitution 2010 by submitting copies of the following documents upon request;
- Certificate of Good Conduct from the Director of Criminal Investigations;
- Clearance Certificate from the Higher Education Loans Board;
- Tax Compliance Certificate from the Kenya Revenue Authority;
- Clearance from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission; and
- Report from an Approved Credit Reference Bureau.
