Department: Dean of Students Office
Reporting To: Career Development Services Manager
Basic job summary: To be responsible for providing an environment for student career development, coordinating the activities of the Office, and reparing students for the work environment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Provide management with accurate, timely, and complete reports on Career Development Services’ events, Strathmore’s employability rate, and annual student/alumni job placement to facilitate decision making;
  2. Conduct surveys, analyze and prepare reports for process improvement as part of the core duties in ensuring effective operations;
  3. Conduct employer development visits on existing and prospective employers to improve employability and facilitate formal and non-formal agreements with employer partners;
  4. Plan for graduate recruitments, invite industry experts for career talks, and provide recruitment support to companies during employment of Strathmore University students;
  5. Facilitate networking opportunities for students and alumni with industry representatives to inform the students on their career opportunities;
  6. Coordinate the Annual career fair, school specific mini career fairs, HR roundtables, and other career related events to communicate information on the organizations’ recruitment processes and create a rapport with employers;
  7. Monitor operations in Career Development Services and create new procedures to aid in efficiency as the need arises

Minimum Requirements:

Core qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in any business-related field from a recognized institution
  2. At least 3 years’ experience in Administration or HR with knowledge in training and development
  3. Certificate in Counseling will be an added advantage
