Job purpose
The Procurement Officer is needed for temporary support to the Procurement Team in Nairobi.
Description of duties
- Receiving goods and ensuring both quality and quantity is observed.
- Tracing, tracking and expediting the purchase processes to meet set timelines.
- Reviewing invoices, delivery notes and purchase orders and initiating payment process by ensuring all support documentation for all vendor payments are in line with the policy and procedures of Evidence Action.
- Providing accurate and timely reports on vendors.
- Maintain relationship with internal staff and external customers to enable support of procurement activities with wider programs.
- Reconcile supplier accounts on a regular basis and resolve issues related to the accounts.
- Ensure all donors procurement guidelines and policies are strictly followed;
- Process tax exemption forms;
- Taking up insurance covers for inventory and property.
- Filing of all procurement documents on box.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities assigned from time to time.
Qualifications, Experience and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Procurement/Supply Chain or related field with at least 1 years experience.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills;
- The capacity to prioritize tasks and work under pressure;
- Ability to multi-task without compromising the quality of output.
- Strong oral and written communication skills;
- Attention to detail;
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing workloads;
