VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

POSITION: ICT OFFICER II-ICT SECURITY (JSG 6)

Job Reference Number: V/No. 20/2022

Number of Positions: One (1)

Terms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable

Gross Salary Scale: Kshs. 94,400 – 118,900 p.m.

Job Purpose:
The job holder will be responsible for developing, deploying and maintaining Judiciary ICT security systems, solutions and programs.

Reporting Responsibilities:

The job holder is responsible to the ICT Officer I

Area of Deployment:
Directorate of ICT
Key Duties and Responsibilities:

i. Conducting research and development/security intelligence on new
areas in security to input to strategy;

ii. Designing cyber security solutions in line with best practices to ensure
deployment of best in class solutions;

iii. Defining cyber security requirements and acceptance criteria for new
systems;

iv. Implementing the policies and procedures in adherence to the Data
Protection Act of Kenya;

v. Developing business cases, RFIs/RFPs, conduct proof of concepts,
technical evaluations;

vi. Implementing the testing, implementation, deployment and
commissioning of new security solutions;

vii. Developing high availability and disaster recovery configuration in
accordance with best practices for solutions deployed;

viii. Recommending major security upgrades where required and work with
the operations team to implement; and

ix. Administering both UNIX/LINUX and Windows based Virtualized Server environments

Job Requirements: Academic and Professional Qualifications

For appointment to this grade, the applicant must have:

i. A Bachelor of Science degree in any of the following fields: Computer Science, Computer Technology, Informatics, Computer Science & Technology, Information Systems, Business Information Technology (BBIT), Computing Science and Technology, Computer Security and Forensics or its equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution;

ii. Demonstrated merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.

Experience:
i. Knowledge/experience working on Vulnerability Management, Threat Intelligence, Python/PHP, bash scripting and/or PowerShell, Penetration Testing, etc. is imperative.

ii. Deployment of Cisco and/or Fortinet security solution will be an added advantage

Directorate of Criminal Investigation

Ethics and AntiCorruption Commission

A recognized Credit Reference Bureau; and

Clearance from relevant professional body.
